Neuropsychology job description:

Accompanied or supervised management of neuropsychology cases for clients aged 4 to 17, and/or 18 and over. Lead history taking and information gathering meetings, under supervision if doctoral student. Perform neuropsychological assessment of cognitive abilities and administration of tests. Correct and grade administered tests based on standards. Write the evaluation report and generate recommendations. Carry out a period of submitting the results with the client or family, during which the report will be presented and dissected. It is very important for the candidate to ensure that the evaluation report and that all of the work and contact with customers respects Neurosolution’s methods, model and standards. The candidate will not need to take care of administrative aspects, references and appointments, or schedule management; these are taken care of by the Neurosolution clinic, and training and supervision will be provided by Dr. Mark Chébli. 

Job Requirements:

  • The doctoral student must be registered in the “Register of students and candidates for admission of the Order of Psychologists of Quebec”.
  • The professional must be a member in good standing of the Order of Psychologists of Quebec (OPQ) with a certificate in neuropsychology.
  • At least one university internship completed at the doctoral level.
  • Bilingualism or trilingualism is an asset.
  • Written French and/or English (spelling, grammar, syntax) are essential.
  • Good knowledge of common neuropsychological tests (WPPSI, WISC, WAIS, WIAT, TEA-Ch, TEA, CMS, WMS, NEPSY, etc.).
  • On the lookout for cultural values ​​(immigration, style of education) and family issues (separation, conflicts).
  • On the lookout for comorbid emotional disorders such as anxiety, self-esteem, depression, attachment, bullying, etc.
  • Able to interact with children who require motivation and behavior management.
  • Able to work with adults or parents; able to handle sensitive and emotional adults or parents.
  • Dynamic and autonomous person.
  • Able to work in a team.

Job description in orthopedagogy:

Intervention support for clients aged 4 to 17. Lead rehabilitation and training meetings using technological tools. Support students in their difficulties related to dyslexia, dysorthography, dyscalculia, writing texts, understanding texts, mathematical resolutions, working methods, organization and time management. Offer parents support on how to guide learning. Periodically provide updates to parents.  It is very important for the candidate to ensure that all work and contact with customers respects Neurosolution’s methods, model and standards.  The candidate will not need to take care of administrative aspects, references and appointments, or schedule management; these are taken care of by the Neurosolution clinic, and training and supervision will be provided by Dr. Mark Chébli.

  • Bilingualism or trilingualism is an asset.
  • Written French and/or English (spelling, grammar, syntax) are essential.
  • Good knowledge of learning disabilities and attention deficit disorder.
  • Basic knowledge of disorders such as dysphasia, dyspraxia and autism spectrum disorder.
